"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." — Mae West
Although I always had a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial streak that was clearly evident even at 6 years old (when I started my clothespin business), it did take me some time to fully understand that it takes hard work and perseverance to achieve, and most importantly, SUSTAIN long-term gains.
Sure, I was tempted to take shortcuts – hanging out at Marge’s Candy store and getting into trouble with the local bullies seemed a heck of a lot easier than going to school or struggling at various jobs. But you know what? The type of “success” gained from the quick-fix approach usually doesn’t last. If you can’t back up your big talk with action and deliver the goods, eventually you will get found out and it will all come crashing down around you. There is no substitute for good, old-fashioned, hard work.

Dust yourself off and start all over again!
